2010 Spring Newsletter
Dear Junior Members:
I can’t believe May is already here. I’m sure you are looking forward to getting out of school for the year as am I. It will be fun to see everyone during this summer’s activities which leads me into the upcoming activities.
May 30th Southwestern Wisconsin Angus Classic, Lancaster, WI – send entries to K. Retallick, 8281 East Glen Road, Glen Haven, WI 53810 ASAP – early entries due 5/15.
June 12 WJAA State Show in conjunction with WLBA, Jefferson, WI – entries must be sent to WLBA, WLBA, 7811 N. Consolidated School Rd, Edgerton, WI 5334 or check the website at http://www.wisconsinlivestockbreeders.com/ - late entries are accepted at double entry fee. Must arrive on Friday evening. We will also be hosting a “Family Food Drive”. Every family is asked to bring five canned items. For more information contact show chair Calli Bayer.

June 23-26 Eastern Regional Show – Bloomington, IL - Entry deadline 5/15/10 no late entries accepted. Visit www.angus.org and go to NJAA link.
July 11-17 National Junior Angus Show – Denver, CO – Entry deadline 6/1/10 no late entries accepted. Visit www.angus.org and go to NJAA link.
NJAA Contests: There are also a lot of NJAA contests available for those who are exhibiting and those that are not exhibiting. Check out the website for information on photography, writing, etc. Most are due 6/1/2010. We are also looking for team members of all age brackets for the cookoff, team sales, and fitting. If you are interested in participating, please contact me as soon as possible. Cookoff teams and recipes are due 6/1/10.
August 9-12 Wisconsin State Fair Junior Show – entries due through your local county extension;
August 12-15 Wisconsin State Fair Open Show – entries due to WSF by 6/15/10. Check out the website for more information.
September 23-26 World Beef Expo – entries due by August 17. Check the website for more information
December 4-5 Badger Kickoff, WSF Park, West Allis. Watch for details.
