The meeting was called to order by president Jim Ward. Those present were: Tom Peters, Phyllis Tomaw, Tony Weber, Dan Downing, Tom Tomaw, Jeff Kind, Jim Ward, Dave Horstmeyer, Leslie Mindemann, Steve Wagemester and Ardel Quam.

Secretary report: Tom Tomaw moved to accept the May meeting minutes as printed. Weber seconded the motion. Carried.

Treasurer report: Financial report covering May through July 2005 was presented. Mindemann moved to accept the report. Horstmeyer seconded the motion. Carried.

Old Business: Budget tabled until next meeting.
Audit report: Phyllis Tomaw had her daughter-in-law (a CPA) go over the 2004 books. Perhaps at the annual meeting she will have a breakdown for people to see. Need to have the next audit done by the annual meeting.

Preview Show: 61 females and 12 bulls. In the directory it stated the show would start at 10:00. The show was started at 9:15 to get the people from a distance a better chance to get home earlier. The embroidery on the chairs for the champions was donated by Stitch-It. Tom Peters picked up the cost of the chairs. Peters moved to start the Preview show at 9:30 and be listed in the directory and any ads as such. Downing seconded the motion. Motion carried. Mindemann thanked the Kinds for the get together at their farm on Saturday evening. Perhaps look at making it an annual thing.

Farm Technology Days: Horstmeyer reported that Jerry Lausted and some fellow breeders from the St Croix Association manned the booth and put it together. Many thanks to them for their work. No reports of any problems or issues.

World Beef Expo Sale: Twenty-nine lots have been cataloged. The committee screened just a few cattle for the sale. Next year we need to maybe send a postcard/ Web site/newsletter to alert the people of the deadline for the sale. Tomaw moved to have Tony Weber read the pedigrees on the block. Mindemann seconded the motion. Carried. Dan Downing has volunteered to be on the block to write down the buyer numbers and amounts. Jerry Cassady reported that he talked to Ward about show day at the Expo and he will be the only AAA personnel at the show. Tomaw wants to make sure that every Angus breeder shows up for the party as the WAA is helping sponsor the meal. The auxiliary is going to donate a gift box for the silent auction at WBE. They would like to put together a basket from local businesses, if board members would bring something Leslie will put it together. She will send out an E-mail to board members to remind them. Auxiliary will have their hospitality before the sale offering. Mindemann will get the sale catalog linked to the WAA Web site. She is also looking at getting a list of who did what that went through WBE Angus sale.. Wagemester will run some classifieds advertising the sale.

New Business: P. Tomaw would like to see a yearly calendar that would have the listings and deadlines on the Web site. This is a good idea to add deadlines to this calendar. This information could be printed and available at the annual meeting.

Annual meeting: Mindemann has been looking at a place in Poynette. A banquet with a bit more social activities than past years. Junior meeting early afternoon, WAA meeting late afternoon, banquet then have some fun things to do, (something similar to like a Ducks Unlimited banquet). Initial price quote is $16 - $17 per plate is the price with a high quality prime rib or similar meat. We could sell tickets before with a cut off date

to get a head count. Mindemann moved to hold the Annual meeting at the Pines in Poynette January 28, 2006. Downing seconded the motion. Carried. Mindemann has talked to Dana May, the WJAA president and she thought it was a good idea; it would be brought up at their next meeting.

State Sale: Should we look at moving the sale to a Saturday? Horstmeyer moved to move the WAA spring sale at 3:00 on March 18, 2006. Downing seconded the motion. Carried. T. Tomaw and Retallick are in charge of the spring sale. T. Tomaw moved to have the Hall manage the spring sale. Weber seconded the motion. Carried. T. Tomaw will talk to the Hall. Heifers and bulls need to be broke to tie.

Committees: Mindemann is doing updates for the Web site for biographies for it. Wants to get the board members done with their pictures. About November would like to list a picture and biography for nominations for the board of directors. The nominating committee would need to get the list of nominees to her by the November meeting.

Next meeting will be November 8, 2005 at the Arlington UW headquarters.

Seeing no further business, Weber moved to adjourn the meeting. T Tomaw seconded the motion. Meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,

Ardel Quam,
Secretary
